Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a SEN Teaching Assistants to support a child on a 1:1 basis in a Designated Special Provision (DSP) within a primary school in the LE4 area. The child is non-verbal and would need a lot of suppport within the DSP. Within the DSP there is 1 teacher and two other teacher assistants to support.

This position is due to start as soon as possible. The first week will be Monday to Friday 8.20 - 12.30, then will be extended to full days the week after.

This role will start on a temporary basis but after a successful trial period will become a permanent role.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £13,000 - £14,500 per annum dependent on experience

Hours: Maximum of 35 hours per week, term time only - Permanent part time, full time and sessional available.

Function of role:

You will be supprting a non-verbal child with Autism on a 1:1 basis. You will need to have a calming approach wiand be familar with strategies that can be used in certain sitatuions when supporting a child with Autism.

To support and maintain a high level of learner engagement through collaborative preparation and delivery of an innovative, creative and flexible curriculum. To use a collaborative and multi-agency holistic approach to delivering an education provision which includes attention to health and safety awareness, risk management and the safeguarding of young people.

Accountabilities:

Act in accordance with the organisation's guidelines under the guidance of the designated Provision Manager and adhere to the organisation's Equal Opportunities and Diversity policy.

Being an advocate on behalf of your students in your class, whilst encouraging their involvement and engagement within the seassion in the classroom. In addition, assisting the class teacher with the assessment, preparation, delivery and review of a learner's curriculum including contributions to lesson plans.

Be aware of ALL safeguarding procedures on a day to day basis, and adhering to these at all times.

Be responsible for all aspects of learner health and safety, informing the designated Learning Manager of any accidents or identified risks, and using the significant incident reporting form appropriately. Support the Learning Manager to ensure venues used are appropriate and risk assessed, and that Health and Safety guidance supplied by the company is adhered to.

To adhere to the appropriate plans that are set out for the children within the class, and to be aware of any SEN needs of he children that you'd be supporting. To have the ability to put on place strategies to handle certain sitatuons whislt support a child 1:1.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
