We're looking for a Finance Assistant to work with our client on an ongoing basis. The role will commence with sales ledger but may turn into a fully rounded finance assistant position on a permanent basis for the right candidate (only full-time). This role would suit someone who is comfortable working in a rural environment, as you will require a car to get to the site.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Processing of sales invoices for multiple businesses (approx. 200 per week)
  • Responsible for setting up new customer / supplier accounts and maintain existing account details
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Credit control - email only
  • Intercompany recharges
  • Bank reconciliations
  • To assist in the preparation of sales summaries
  • Creating and posting entries from the bank statement to the accounting software
  • Ad-hoc tasks as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department

Skills and experience required:
  • Previous experience of working in an account's environment on a high-volume sales ledger
  • Solid knowledge of accounting
  • Previous experience of accountancy software (Farmplan desirable)
  • Demonstrate a can-do, proactive and motivated approach to any task
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skill
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • High levels of flexibility and adaptability
  • The ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
  • The ability to work autonomously

  • Full Time 40 hours per week 8.30am - 5pm
  • Part-time 25 - 35 hours (hours to be confirmed)

Salary and benefits:
  • Up to £13.50 per hour
