Finance Director

My client are on the market for an Interim Finance Director to join their team on a temporary basis. My client are an education delivery organisation urgently seeking an experienced Finance Director to join the team ASAP

Job DescriptionPosition - Finance DirectorReporting to the CEO the Director of Finance is responsible forfinancial management and that of its trading and charitable subsidiaries.Leading our Financial and Resources Team the post holder will be responsible for the overall financialmanagement of the company and the line management of the finance staff.

The role also manages our ICT Infrastructure via our providers and our small HR team.As Director of Finance, you are required to report timely, accurate and relevant information to our Finance& Risk Committee and the full board.

ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Vision and Leadership1. Advise the CEO and other key members of senior management on financial matters includingaccounting, budgeting, cash-flow and the financial implications of strategic and operationaldecisions.2. Serve as the management liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicatingand presenting the financial status of the company and its subsidiaries at board and committeemeetings.3. Contribute to the development and implementation of business goals and objectives anddrive efficiency and effectiveness within our organisations.4. Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO informed of all critical issues.5. Represent the organisation externally, as necessary, particularly in banking, audit, investmentand property negotiations.

Team Development/Leadership1. Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance team and HR Manager.2. Oversee and direct our ICT providers.3. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that valueslearning and a commitment to a 'right first time' culture.4. Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate support, training and development.5. Monitor and report staff performance and conducting regular and documented supervision andappraisals.Operations1. Maintain and develop systems of financial and contractual management and control, effectivelymanage internal controls, our adherence to accounting standards, and application of financialprocedures and policies.2. Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process.3. Ensure we are adhering to its budgets and finance policies.4. Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts with supporting narratives and analyticalreports on the performance and effectiveness.5. Work with operational staff to support with accessing the viability of different potential activitiesand to develop a cost control environment.6. Review, develop and implement administrative and operational accounting services to ensureeffective and compliant service delivery.Personal Specification:Qualifications & Experience1. Educated to degree standard e.g. Business or Accounting degree2. CIMA / ACCA /ICAEW (CIPFA recognised)3. Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior management role ideally in a customer facing and /oreducation delivery organization4. Experience of Group and subsidiary financial management and regulations. (Non-profit / Forprofit)
