SEND Teaching Assistant. - Small Heath - Reception - 1:1

We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) within the Small Heath area to start ASAP.

You will be supporting reception aged students who have Special Educational Needs and some challenging behaviours. It would be advantageous is you have experience with Makaton and Team Teach however this is not an essential requirement for the role.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work proactively with students with special education needs and disabilities.

You will be a passionate individual with a reassuring and calming nature. You will be enthusiastic in your approach to encouraging learning and also able to build rapport with children, parents and staff alike.

The role is a long term position and will commence imminently. It will be a full time post (8:20am - 3:20pm, Monday to Friday) so it is imperative you are able to commit to this schedule for consistency for the pupils you are working with.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

You will be supporting a student with behavioural needs
You will be supporting teachers in managing Students behaviour
You will need to be comfortable in dealing with students with special education Needs


Relevant experience and/or qualifications
Right to work in the UK
Valid DBS (Child Work Force) or willingness to apply for one
Available Fulltime
Able to commute to Small Heath in Birmingham, West Midlands

The salary for this role will be £70-75 a day on a 30 hour week; this is depending on your experience.
