United Trust Bank's Compliance team works to ensure the Bank's compliance with current and forthcoming applicable regulatory regimes. The team assesses the adequacy and effectiveness of the Banks Policies and Procedures and provides Departments with advice, support and guidance on regulatory matters in order to help them achieve their objectives and a positive customer outcome. We are now looking to hire an Operational Risk & Data Projection Analyst into the team.


Operational Risk:
  • Co-ordinate the bank's RCSA process and ongoing maintenance of the Corporate Risk Register
  • Responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Bank's risk management system and provision of support and guidance to the business (Line 1) in order to enable them to manage their risks more effectively e.g. creation and provision of risk and control reports
  • Assist with thematic reviews in key areas of operational risk, where necessary
  • Manage the Bank's Operational Risk Incident Management process, ensuring root cause analysis and control assessments are undertaken. This will involve understanding deep dive reviews on significant and complex events, to provide recommendations to enhance the control environment
  • Assisting the Operational Risk Officer with ad hoc tasks as required

Data Protection:
  • Liaising with colleagues in the business units to complete risk assessment documents (including DPIA reviews and departmental risk registers)
  • Extracting information from UTB systems (e.g. for access requests or monitoring)
  • Checking complaints data for accuracy and liaising with Complaints Champions to resolve any issues
  • Fact checking key registers (e.g. Information Asset register)
  • Completing ICO self-assessments (e.g. accountability self-assessment)

Skills and experience sought:
  • Ideally analyst level experience in financial services compliance role in a banking environment
  • Ideally some experience gained in a 'first line of defence' function
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Highly organised and methodical with an ability to see projects through to completion
  • Analytical and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to liaise effectively with operational departments and across all levels of management
  • A self-starting, pro-active attitude
  • MS Excel skills
  • Word and PowerPoint
  • Power Bi (advantage)
