SEN Teaching Assistant - Reading - ASAP - September starter - Secondary

SEN Teaching Assistant required for a school in Reading - Support students with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties in the classroom

Students age range 11-17

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Psychologists or Therapists looking for experience working with young people and children who require support with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs with an ASAP or September starting date.

This school in Reading, Berkshire is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who can support the class teacher in providing an alternative education to support the individual needs of children with SEMH and more complex needs including: behaviour difficulties, learning and development challenges and students mental health and well - being needs. Recent or upcoming Psychology graduates are encouraged to apply with opportunities to shadow and work with Educational psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

Job role:

- ASAP start/September

-Teaching Assistant for children with SEN and Mental Health Needs

-£70-£80 per day

-Reading, Berkshire

-Shadow Psychologists and Therapists

-Training provided where required

-Work with children in Secondary with a range of needs. A flexible working style is essential.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate and should share the progressive and strong ethos and morals of the school. Your role as the SEN teaching assistant will allow you to be responsible for managing behavior as well as creating differentiated resources to support the learning needs of each pupil.

The SEN Teaching Assistant will ideally have a degree in a related field or have experience working with young people. Some of these children will have faced trauma and anxiety so someone dedicated, patient and resilient to take up the post. The pressures of exams can impact the mental health of students in Secondary, someone who understands these needs and it is essential that the right candidate is able to keep a student engaged in their lesson and education.
