We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Employee Access Assistant that has some basic administrative skills.

Working as the Support Worker / Employee Access Assistant you will be supporting a visually impaired Guide Dogs Employee on a day-to-day basis, enabling them to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.

As the Support Worker / Employee Access Assistant you will form a close and trusting working relationship with the supported person, and having a person-centred approach, good communication skills and flexibility and understanding are extremely important.

This role is 9.30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week, with 26 days paid holiday (pro-rated and excluding bank holidays) a year.

The ideal candidate for this Access Assistant role will demonstrate the following
criteria, in addition to those specified within the job description;

• Being comfortable in an environment where dogs are in training.
• Good interpersonal skills are essential as the role will require a close working
relationship with the person being supported.
• Positive, team player, flexible and thorough in ways of working.
• Proven regular use of CRM databases and all Microsoft programmes (including
Teams, SharePoint and Outlook).
• Proven experience of seeking out opportunities to support teams (able to
work independently)
• Functional level of English and Maths to enable fulfilment of role
requirements, such as notetaking.
• Ability to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, and
attention to detail.
• Excellent planning and organisation skills.
• Evidence of dealing with confidential issues sensitively and with total

• Awareness of sighted guiding techniques.
• Understanding, and experience of, providing a service or support with a person-centred approach.
• Experience of working within a similar role
• Experience of supporting people with disabilities, in a work or voluntary capacity.

The Operations Support Team is based in Leamington, at the Midlands Regional Centre.
By supporting the Operations Support Co-ordinator to fulfil their role, you will be
helping people with sight loss to live the life they choose by supporting Operations.
