Senceive users installed more than 30,000 sensors last year - helping them manage ground and structural movement, landslide risk, geotechnical behaviour, rail track movement and much more. Systems are installed in minutes and last more than a decade with minimal maintenance - helping users to mitigate engineering risk without visiting site.

We've been designing, building and supporting the best wireless condition monitoring technology since 2005. As part of the Eddyfi NDT group of companies we are growing fast and have highly ambitious plans for the coming years.

Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Operations Manager will participate and oversee Senceive's production, its related business process, related improvements, logistics, product quality, as well as overall Senceive health & safety for the UK site. The individual will implement the necessary framework and set of KPIs, through the deployment of digital systems in order to deliver the company`s defined strategic objectives and targets

Reporting, Location & TravelThis role reports to the VP of Engineering & Operations and is based in Senceive's Headquarters in Milton Keynes. This role requires occasional traveling to our contract manufacturers, suppliers and customers.

Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, although are not limited to the following:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
  • Plan, monitor, and analyse key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
  • Devise strategies to ensure growth of programs company-wide, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximise output and minimise costs
  • Uphold organisation policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed
  • Work closely with Human Resources to lead team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment of continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategy in support of business objectives
  • Lead and direct the reduction/elimination of operational waste through deployment of lean practices and Six Sigma initiatives
  • Implement and drive 5s culture
  • Develop current/future Value Stream Process maps and plan improvement activities that will deliver future productivity savings as per budget
  • Create an effective visual communication process
  • Work with Quality Assurance and Customer Support teams and resolve all engineering and product support issues that materialise in the production facility on a day to day basis
  • Act as process owner for integration of all new products into the production facility via NPD process
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Lead the deployment of digital systems such as Salesforce and SAP
  • Work with the Head of Quality to ensure adherence to QMS, HSE and ISO standards
  • Maintain overall management of the site facility
  • Develop, train and motivate the team
  • Coordinate VSM and Kaizen event activities across the facility
  • Partner with the Supply Chain Manager and provide strategic sourcing leadership on supply chain initiatives and resolving supplier related issues including supply continuity, vendor rationalisation, and insource/outsource decisions
  • Ensure that materials and production planning are in synch, so that materials are delivered on time and production team operates efficiently

Relevant Knowledge & ExperienceCandidates should assess their suitability against the following essential and/or desirable relevant knowledge and experience:

Essential
  • Solid experience and demonstrable success in a senior operational leadership role in a fast-moving manufacturing/automotive/production environment
  • Financial accountability in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid experience in a formal, continuous improvement environment implementing Lean/SixSigma tools
  • Proven experience in driving significant improvements with a team and business
  • Strong working knowledge of modern SaaS platforms (Odoo, Salesforce, SAP)
Desirable
  • Engineering Degree or Equivalent experience
  • Six Sigma qualification would be an advantage
