The Role: Tax Relationship Director

The Team: The Tax Solutions solves complex tax compliance, due diligence, withholding and reporting issues in relation to global tax transparency initiatives for multinational and global financial services firms. We are a fast-growing team comprising tax subject matter experts, lawyers and operational tax compliance specialists on a mission to enhance our clients' ability to meet their own IRS and international tax compliance regulatory obligations while offering their customers best in class software solutions.

The Impact: Firms are increasing under scrutiny from tax authorities focused on ensuring accuracy of information reporting under international agreements such as the CRS. On the other hand, their customers are seeking maximum return on their cross-border investments while ensuring they benefit from reduced withholding taxes, at source of via tax reclaims. Through intelligence and solutions, we support our clients balance these twin challenges, enabling them to expand their product range while continually managing their operational and regulatory risks.

What's in it for you: Currently, we are recruiting for a Tax Relationship Director who can grow our business by informing the sales strategy, develop relationships across traditional and emerging financial market participants, work closely with the sales team and mentor staff. We are looking for someone who is savvy at navigating corporate environments while being agile and entrepreneurial. The successful candidate will play a prominent role in transforming our business and developing less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will be responsible for driving revenue for the tax solutions business in relation to the requirements of automatic exchange of information regimes such as FATCA, the Common Reporting Standard (CRS), US tax information reporting, Qualified Intermediary (QI) and Qualified Derivatives Dealer (QDD)
  • Strengthen and develop relationships with stakeholders at existing and target customers
  • Cultivate sector, product and technical expertise to be able to curate new business opportunities arising from tax driven regulatory changes and synergies with other business lines with the Networks & Regulatory Solutions division of S&P Global Market Intelligence
  • Drafting and delivering business requirements for product specialists and development.
  • Assist in demonstrations of solutions and tools to targets and clients, including post implementation client support through training and consulting services.
  • Travel, as necessary, to assist sales and business development team in the pursuit of opportunities and engagements.
What We're Looking For: Experience in the following areas is desired but not required:
  • Prior experience in a client-facing role with ownership of revenue targets
  • Experience with the FATCA and QI regimes and OECD driven initiatives including CRS, MDR, TRACE
  • Experience with tax reclaims
  • Interest in regulatory developments around crypto and derivatives
  • Strong network of contacts in the financial services industry
  • Must be organized and able to manage multiple projects and relationships in parallel
  • Commercially driven individual with a high work ethic and confidence to work autonomously
  • Strong teamwork, written and verbal communication skills
  • BS/BA or operational taxes experience required
  • More than six years of experience in tax ideally within FATCA, CRS and QI regulations
