Reed Talent Solutions are currently working with an East Midlands based Educational Establsihment on the search for a Financial Administrator on a three month interim contract.

Role Information
  • Job Title - Finance Administrator
  • Pay Rate - £11.87 - 13.90 per hour (PAYE) /£14.60 - £17.22 (UMBRELLA)
  • Contract - 3 months temporary
  • Flexible hybrid working available

Role Background

We are looking for a Finance Administrator provide financial support to NCEO by maintaining the current financial model, administrating finances within the finance systems and maintain an up-to date record of financial information.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain the NCEO finance system and reports:
  • Maintain the NCEO financial model using in depth knowledge and communicate with partners to answer queries or acquire information
  • Carry out budget calculations for new proposals, implement revisions to cost allocations across the NCEO partners as instructed by the NCEO Executive team. Advice on potential impacts of such changes to the wider budget, recommend action
  • Produce costings for new grants using thecosting system
  • Prepare and issue quarterly financial schedules for NCEO partners; provide templates for financial reporting and monitor invoices from partners; check and challenge invoices and track progress of payments. Use initiative to get engagement form partners with the process and set deadlines

Maintain an Interface with University systems
  • Liaise with Research Support Office (RSO) to ensure financial good practice in set-up and expenditure of NCEO budgets.
  • Use Leicester systems to monitor spend on NCEO budgets
  • Arrange for set-up of new NCEO-related grants
  • Liaise with RSO to issue contracts and amendments.

Essential Criteria
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Evidence of relevant education, ideally to a level and with a grade C in GCSE Maths
  • Experience of calculating and managing finances
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Effective oral and written skills
  • A high level of skill with all of the Microsoft office suite, specifically excel and word
  • Effective problem solving skills in dealing with unforeseen issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with a wide range of staff and external clients and customers
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage own work activities and tasks
  • Working knowledge of finance hub/ accounts payable and Research Support Office processes relevant to this post
