A specialised position within the Trust that requires a high level of IT knowledge with an overall operational performance responsibility to manage, administer, develop and support the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS), BSU (Breast Screening Unit) PACS and ancillary PACS imaging systems at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. Additionally, this individual will act as a liaison and subject matter expert in digital imaging initiatives within the department and other departments.

Accountable for the efficient day-to-day technical and clinical issues relating to PACS/VITAL/IEP/BSU PACS service delivery in the clinical environment, in order to ensure continuity of patient care at all times. This role includes the development and maintenance of PACS operational policies and procedures, system audit, incident management, change management, service request management ensuring a close liaison with clinical users, third party vendors and colleagues in Informatics.Responsible for the integrity, safe use and security of the PACS system.Maintains the effective service delivery through the allocation and management of resources and responds to evolving clinical service needs. Evaluates, participates, implements, co-ordinates new PACS and digital imaging initiatives.Manages all issues relating to and affecting PACS and advises on the appropriate prioritisation and allocation of resources to support service development and improvement.Responsible for the delivery and development of PACS training to Imaging and co-ordinates the training of users outside of Imaging.
