Finance Manager - Retail Warehousing - Castle Donington
The location of the role is Castle Donington (hybrid remote working).
The pay rate on offer is £400 - £425 per day.
The duration of the contract is 6 months.
The client is a large, multinational high-street retailer.
Summary:
Build robust financial budget, report on and manage financial performance of Retail Warehousing Network. Maintain positive working relationships with 3PL Logistics partners. Support the Head of Retail Warehousing Operations with strategic decision support.
Key accountabilities of the role
Clothing & Home (C&H) Reporting:
Support the weekly & monthly trading and reporting processes, communicating the C&H cost performance to LLT and group finance, driving insight through understanding key performance drivers
Manage P&L and Balance Sheet risks and opportunities, working closely with the Business to identify and understand movements. Taking ownership of latest estimates and driving a 'no surprise' culture
Ensuring clear communication of monthly actual and quarterly outturn messages to key stakeholders
Ownership for the monthly C&H reporting output to the PLC Board and Operating committee, collating inputs, driving insight and improved analysis into C&H performanceFinancial Planning:
Accountable for building robust quarterly, annual and long-range forecasts and credibly presenting the key movements to LeadershipGeneral:
Attendance at Network meetings, reviewing performance and supporting Business Partners (Yorkshire, Midlands, Southeast)
Feels comfortable managing external 3PL suppliers, ensuring their performance is in line with contractual terms
Close stakeholder relationship with BU finance and selling channel teams (Retail & Online) to ensure consistency on financials and messaging
Review opportunities to streamline reporting and drive efficiencies across trading, planning and reporting processesKey skills and experience
Qualified Accountant - CIMA / ACCA / ACA
Finance systems knowledge (SAP)
Budgeting and forecasting experience
Maintenance of rigorous financial controls
Commercial awareness and interest in Retail / consumer focused businesses
Good commercial understanding of the business & market
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
