Accounts Administration Assistant

Salary: £25k pro rata
Hours: 30 hours per week
Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Permanent Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-established and professional accountancy practice based in central Huddersfield. The role of the Accounts Administration Assistant is to provide a professional and efficient service to the finance function, monitoring how much is owed at all times and providing accurate financial information to the Firm's partners as needed.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:

· Working out VAT payments
· Bill book maintenance
· Daily Cashbook maintenance
· Matching, checking and coding invoices
· Processing Timesheets
· End of Month procedures
· Logging Sales invoices
· Making payments via BACS and cheques
· Processing staff expenses
· Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
· Reconciliation of supplier statements
· Filing invoices
· Managing petty cash
· Maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers
· Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary

The Key Competencies of the Accounts Assistant:

· Excellent communication skills
· Solid team working skills
· Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
· Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages
· Knowledge of software packages such as SAGE or similar
· Demonstrable experience of bookkeeping
