The Procurement Assistant will support Category Managers and the Head of Procurement in the delivery of the departmental objectives, to meet category objectives for cost reduction, management of supply chain and supply chain projects and providing a first-class service to all Customers and business stakeholders.They will manage and support the internal eProcurement system and will provide a platform of continuous market intelligence, analysing spends, transactional and pricing data, continuously monitoring the category markets, and will also share major cost variations with the key suppliers, to maintain a competitive category portfolio. Always Operating within ethical and professional codes, the Procurement Assistant will ensure acceptable due diligence of all suppliers and maintain a supply chain transparency, to ensure ethical standards are always met.The Procurement Assistant will develop strong relationships with operational colleagues and pro-actively engage with Care Homes to ensure they are satisfied with the service and quality of products provided by the Procurement team and HC-One preferred suppliers, highlighting to the relevant colleague any negative feedback, ensuring that actions are taken promptly to resolve or rectify any problems.Ideally qualified to CIPS Level 3, you will have commercial acumen in line with business scale and spend and have experience of analysing spend and implementing remedial actions to support overspend, ideally within the private healthcare sector.You will be ambitious and enthusiastic, you will be able to plan and prioritise your time effectively, to work both reactively and strategically according to business needs, reacting quickly to the demands of the business.With strong communication and customer service skills, you will be able to engage and influence across a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have excellent analytical and organisational skills, project management and planning skills, you will have the ability to analyse management information to drive decision making and identify indicators of poor performance and quality, and act effectively.
