Are you a recent Project, Construction, or Civil Engineering graduate looking to take your first step into the rail sector? Would you like to operate within a discipline area that is crucial to keeping our railways safe and functioning?

The Civils & Infrastructure Division of Ford & Stanley are working with one of the leading rail-based civil engineering consultancies in the UK, to find an Assistant Project Manager to join their ever-growing Structural Examinations business unit.

The successful candidate will be embedded within their highly experienced Examinations and Project Management Team. You will initially be providing them with programme and project support and developing your sector knowledge, and then eventually go on to manage your own smaller projects/programme of works.

Candidates will have the opportunity to undertake further training, such as site-based qualifications (PTS, Safe Work Planner, etc), and management training, such as ILM Level 3, and a clear progression plan to take them to Project Manager / Senior Project Manager level.

Location: Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire.

Benefits:

£24-27,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
26 days holiday + bank holidays per year, rising with time served
The option to buy up to 5 days of additional leave
Competitive pension, rising to 7% with time served
Weekend work available, paid at double time

Role and Responsibilities:

Project management and reporting of assigned work
• Cost management and commercial reporting
• Working closely with Project and Resource Managers, to allocate staff in conjunction with client's programmes
• Production of site-specific documentation, including WPPs, TBS and RAMs
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers to plan and organise safe and efficient operations
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including third-party landowners to arrange access

Candidate Requirements:

Relevant degree level qualification (Civil Engineering, Project management etc) or experience working in a comparable role.
Candidates must be strong communicators, as stakeholder management will be a large aspect of the role.
Candidates must be inquisitive, have a desire to learn and progress, and be highly motivated.
