Finance Director, Facilities Management Services, Central London (Hybrid Working), £90k-120k+ excellent package
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to join a leading UK-based and private equity owned facilities management group, specialising in the provision of catering, cleaning, landscaping, maintenance, security, parking and other support services. The business provides services on a 'managed contract' basis to clients in sectors including defence, corporate, retail, education, banking and government.
The business has an annual turnover of around £60 million and is profitable, it has also benefited from further investment in the business by the private equity owners, including investment in technology such as hand held devices for field staff, improving efficiency.
The reason for the vacancy is that the existing Finance Director is moving on at the end of a post-acquisition earn out period and it has presented the Board with the opportunity to restructure finance within the business. This will involve the separation of finance away from IT, with the emphasis for the finance department being very much more towards helping the enterprise to growth, advising on the profitability of deals, improving FP&A, improving management reporting, and helping the business to prepare for the exit of the private equity owners.
The Finance Director will report to the Managing Director of the business, with an additional reporting element to the Chief Financial Officer of the private equity group.
The Finance Director will also manage the finance team of around 15-20 staff, including team recruitment, management and professional development.
Finally, the Finance Director will need to be able to work across all areas of the business with to identify any under-performing or badly controlled areas, putting in place strategies for improvement as part of the goal of improving EBITDA and delivering consistent EBITDA in the run up to PE exit.
This is a potentially highly-rewarding and challenging Finance Director role, a real opportunity to make a tangible difference to a successful SME during a period of further expansion.
