Our client is a cutting edge engineering business who are a leader in their field. Due to continued growth they seek to hire a Management Accountant to support the Head of Finance. The role will be broad and suit an ACA/ACCA or CIMA part qualified Accountant.Responsibilities will include:· Preparation of month end reporting, taking responsibility for month end processing and balance sheet reconciliations· Carrying out stock and WIP reconciliations, understanding variances and taking corrective action· Understand the business cycle of the relevant departments in terms of what is being produced (and how) and what is sold which would include regular interaction with the Head of Operations to recognise the impact of production methods on the figures· Liaise with production colleagues to ensure that figures reflect the reality of what is happening on the factory floor· Provide finance support to the allocated business areas including weekly review of costs with the operations team and review of product profitability· Continuous identification when improvements can be made within our finance department, in other departments and the company's computer systems. Internal improvements to be progressed as standard· Assist FD with preparation of annual budgets and interim reforecasts for submission in March, June and September. To include bridging between current and prior budgets / reforecasts and critical review of budgets to ensure that variances are explained and correct· Provide support on preparation of capex proposals, ensuring that the financial justification has been prepared on an appropriate basis and can be substantiated. Review of the overall capex proposal ensuring consistency, accuracy and clarity to the professional standards required· Ability to maintain the fixed assets register as required including posting of depreciation and addition of new capital projectsA salary of £35,000-£40,000 is on offer plus benefits
