Assistant Project Manager
Salary: £28,750 - £34,500 per annum, based on performance and experience. Plus travel allowance and Veolia benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, days.

As an ambitious Assistant Project Manager with a keen interest in developing your career, your principal role will be to assist the more experienced members of the team, supporting all district heating activities, providing assistance in the delivery of projects, developing new connection opportunities assisting business development and client/stakeholder liaison.
Supervision will be provided at every stage of your journey to give you the very best opportunity to flourish as a fully competent Project Manager in a working culture that is inclusive, nurturing and challenging.
The Assistant Project Manager role will suit someone who has a Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a Project Management Qualification with demonstrable commercial experience looking at career development.
What will you be doing?
With support, training and development:
Be engaged with the wide project team on the delivery of live projects working in random tasks in order to deliver the project on time and within budget
Assisting the administration of the project knowledge areas by executing specific project-related tasks
Manage a wide pool of stakeholders and their expectations
Manage project programme, costs and risks
Support and assist any operational activities deemed required
Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures in relation to projects
Comply with all Veolia policies and procedures
Support Business Development with activities, including the creation of business plans and feasibility studies
Manage all connection enquiries from new clients, preparing and keeping updated a business opportunity register
Provide support to any potential client wishing to connect to DH network by scoping, modelling and submitting commercial proposals
Conduct technical analysis of current system to monitor performance.
Provide support in the preparation of programmes, work instructions, traffic management plans, method statements, RAMS among others working in collaboration with Veolia internal teams;
What are we looking for?
A degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management Qualification
You will have gained commercial experience in a similar role
Understanding of project management life cycle
An understanding of small to medium projects gained in a commercial environment
Willingness to undertake further training and development. The Company is committed to developing and training its staff. Veolia may provide further specific training for the role (example CIBSE District heating Code of Practice, CMI Leadership & Management Level 3) if required.
