Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are working with CAF Rail UK to source a Site Planning & Production Control Manager for the Assembly Plant in Newport, CAF is one of the international market leaders in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for rail systems with presence across the globe in all continents. In the UK market, we are present for more than a decade and now we are expanding exponentially through a corporate holding and two differentiated business units: rolling stock and rail services. CAF Rolling Stock UK, Ltd has an assembly facility in Newport (Wales) with a workforce of around 200 staff.

The Opportunity- The Site Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring that the CAF Newport site has a master production plan in place. The schedule developed should link Newport to the individual project plans for the projects being manufactured at Newport and the progress being made within the manufacturing teams. In this role, you will be the "beating heart" of the business and vital for its success.

Location: Newport, Wales.

Role and Responsibilities:

Creation of a Master Production Schedule (MPS) for the Newport site
Maintaining a link between the MPS and the individual project plans (eg.WMT or W&B)
Creating planning scenarios for plan recovery or advancement, to be validated and agreed, on at a Newport and CAF HQ level.
Give guidance to the site management team and UK COO with respect to the site performance vs plan, recovery or advancement scenarios.
Facilitate necessary decisions with respect to site capacity determining factors, e.g. labour, facilities, material and engineering
The Site Planning manager is expected to hold Production and Functions to account, to ensure there is clarity at any given time, regarding the site's progress versus the Master Production Schedule and the individual project plans.
Create tools and processes to support the development of a site MPS, and the ability to track the site's adherence to schedule with a suitable choice of indicating
Determine the levers within the Newport site for rate
Link with the Production Control team to have an accurate picture of manufacturing
Create a framework to plan the implementation of modifications, within Newport and within the delivery depots.
Create a dashboard for Newport site that indicates the status of the site
Holds resource owners to account for the availability of resources vs performance (for material, operational progress and engineering availability)
Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy
Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
The Candidate:

Relevant experience in a similar role, with a strong planning background, ideally from a manufacturing industry background
Understanding of master production scheduling
Aspires to be a leader
Analytical mindset
