Job Title: Sales Ledger and Credit Control Assistant

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £19261 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Length of the contract: Permanent

Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a Sales Ledger and Credit Control Assistant to our public sector client based in Rotherham. As a Sales Ledger and Credit Control Assistant, your main objective will be to assist in the management and maintenance of the sales ledger and credit control functions on a day to day basis.

Duties of the Sales Ledger and Credit Control Assistant

To ensure that all income due (and its subsidiaries) is recognised in a timely fashion and in line with Financial Regulations and Administration Procedures. This includes invoices, direct debits and online payments.
To post monies received into the finance system and allocate accurately.
To assist in the management of FE and HE loans.
To assist with credit control for the group including liaising with customers with respect to queries and overdue payments with an overall view to reducing outstanding levels of debt.
To ensure month end close down is completed in line with the monthly timetable.
To maintain all records to allow for fast retrieval and ease of use of such information.
Other ad-hoc tasks including PDQ payments and covering for other members of the team as required.
You will be able to cope with demanding customers internally and externally and will be able to use your communication skills to gain agreement and achieve customer satisfaction wherever possible.
You will work to strict deadlines in line with monthly Finance schedules and will manage your own workload to ensure you complete all duties accurately and on time.
Experience Required

Previous experience in a credit control role.
Previous experience in a sales ledger role.
Previous experience in a similar environment.
Experience of dealing with non-finance staff at all levels.
English and Math's GCSE grades A-C (or equivalent) or higher.
Evidence of a track record in delivering similar objectives.
Evidence of well-developed IT skills including use of financial accounting packages, spreadsheets, word processing and email packages.
Able to work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines.
Pleasant and helpful approach at all times.
Able to work in an organised and methodical manner.
Work effectively as a member of a team.
Work in a professional and confidential manner with a high degree of integrity and flexibility.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people receiving education and training.
Able to work with sensitive information and treat this confidentially in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
Willing to undertake any training connected with the post.
