This globally recognised brand is searching for an Accounts Assistant to train, develop and join their inclusive team of 7 based in Hedge End. They also offer a full AAT study package which is great for someone who wants to broaden their exposure to accounts!The Accounts Assistant will be responsible largely for prioritising the purchase ledger, reconciling supplier statements and assisting with payroll duties. The role would suit somebody with 1-3 years' experience of working in accounts. This Accounts Assistant role would also welcome applications from finance enthusiasts who are keen to get their foot in the door, but you must have a proven interest in the sector (i.e. studying towards AAT already, college / degree is accounting relevant qualification, accounts work experience). If you are in a similar role but looking to progress and widen your exposure, this could be the ideal next step for you. The Accounts Assistant will receive flexible working hours and ongoing training and development so they can progress longer term.Reporting to the Accounts Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Maintaining the Purchase Ledger
  • Assisting with Payroll
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Processing store weekly takings and dealing with relevant queries
  • Processing weekly reports
  • Financial analysis
  • Dealing with invoice queries
  • Liaising with colleagues and customers
What you will need:
  • Experience in a similar role - Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant / Accounts Payable Clerk / Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Receivable / Sales Ledger Clerk
  • Experience of Sage would be desired but not essential
  • Evidence of working towards AAT qualification
  • Excellent understanding of MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Enthusiastic, passionate and driven individual with a strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, reliable and hardworking character with ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong communication skills with ability to multi-task
