Aqua-Tech Recruitment are working with a leading engineering company in the water industry who are looking for Pre-Contract Project Managers from all disciplines to join their expanding team. The Company is extremely forward thinking and looking to implement a 4-day working week. They have offices in Cumbernauld, Edinburgh, Preston and Inverness with extremely flexible working arrangements (office/home/hybrid).
The client is an established industry leader providing single sourced solutions within the field of MEICAT Engineering. The areas of expertise include hazardous areas, PLC/SCADA, telemetry integration, electrical engineering design, installation, project management and preventive maintenance.
The Pre-Contract Project Managers would be working within project teams responsible for co-ordinating all electrical, mechanical, civil and process engineering deliverables during the Pre-Construction phase of projects through to contract award. Applicants should have previous experience in a similar type of role, preferably in an engineering related environment.
All candidates must have a background in engineering and if this is within the water industry it would be a distinct advantage, although not essential.
This is a permanent role, with a salary of £43 - £53k doe.
Duties:
• Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects primarily in the water & wastewater, power distribution and petrochemical industries.
• Responsible for project delivery and managing the team.
• Responsible for the finances of the project.
• Attend and contribute to internal and external reviews and progress meetings.
• Participate in collaboration meetings with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
• Review of contracts & specifications.
• Procurement and support for subcontract procurement based on detailed specifications.
• Record and review all project information.
• Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.
Person Specification:
A broad range of key skills are required, including:
• Experience in water industry would be advantageous.
• Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages.
• Knowledge and skills in the in the planning, specification, design procurement and commissioning of projects.
• A good financial background in relation to projects.
• A good Knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
• Possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures
