This post has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, as part of a new Intergenerational Project for Chesham and the Chilterns area.
This new project is called Friends-2-Gether. Working with older and younger people, our intention is to bring them together in purposeful, mutually beneficial activities. Our aim is to promote greater understanding and respect between generations, building relationships between those that live and learn in the same community - but may not have the opportunity to get together.
The Friends-2-Gether project aims to improve physical and mental health, decrease social isolation, increase sense of belonging, self-esteem, and wellbeing, whilst also improving social, emotional and employability skills. By providing a wide range of activities such as our Media Launchpad we hope to increase cooperation, interaction and exchange between people of different generations enabling them to share their talents and resources and support each other in relationships that benefit all involved.
To recruit, train and manage volunteers involved in the delivery of services across the Oasis Partnership, ensuring that the charity is following best practice and that risk is always managed. To be key in the delivery of the Friends2Gether project, ensuring that 600 Chilterns residents partake in the intergenerational project over the next 3 years. This role will be key in monitoring and evaluating the Oasis Partnership Volunteer programme and the Friends2Gether project, and that findings from monitoring and evaluations are acted upon.
The success of the role will be measured against the following:
Delivery of the Friends2Gether project to 600 + participants over 3 years.
Development and implementation of a successful intergenerational befriending programme.
Support of existing volunteers at Oasis Partnership.
Recruitment and training of new volunteers in response to the growth of the Oasis Partnership and the need within the One Recovery Bucks project.
Development of a comprehensive, yet accessible, training programme for volunteers in various roles across The Oasis Partnership and One Recovery Bucks.
The Project Manager will directly line manage the Friends2Gether team and will ensure volunteer line management is provided within the staff teams.
