Legal & General are currently looking for an Information Security Analyst to provide the technology expertise required to implement and support the Group Cyber Security strategy, Security Policy and Standards with L&G strategy.

This role will work in close collaboration with the Information Security Governance Manager to reduce and mitigate security risk within Legal & General according to an agreed risk appetite. The Information Security Analyst is responsible for all security considerations during the selection, planning and implementation of IT systems and providers to maintain IT security risk at a tolerable level in accordance with Legal & General's risk appetite.

In addition to IT Security, the Information Security team also take care of vulnerability management, act as Security Subject Matter Experts on projects from start through to completion and perform reverse due diligence for existing and new business partners.

Principal Accountabilities
  1. Technical Insight - Be the trusted source of technical information and cyber security expertise for the division/business, to ensure that appropriate guidance is given to the IT Security Manager and the LGI leadership team to drive leadership decisions.
  2. Assist the IT Security manager when developing the Strategy Development & Oversight plans with appropriate reporting and metrics to deliver the Group's Cyber Security Strategy outcomes.
  3. Provide subject matter expertise into the development of Group Policy and Standards as required ensuring that Security Policy and Security Standards are implemented and adhered to.
  4. Work closely with the IT Security Manager regarding the oversight of 3rd party implementation of security to ensure that strong technical oversight is maintained.
  5. Support the division/business in responding to cyber-incidents as and when necessary to ensure that risk events are dealt with appropriately.
  6. Work with LGI IT and change team on all project work to ensure thorough cyber security reviews are completed with the appropriate advice/support with regards to remediation to keep projects on track.

  • At least two years' experience as an Information Security Analyst, with a proven track record of delivering security solutions across an enterprise and solving complex security problems.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • IT Security, including in-depth understanding of associated frameworks, technologies, and architectures.
    • Network security and Cloud architecture, solution infrastructure and application security and vulnerability management.
    • Strategic planning, project management and execution.
    • IT controls and associated protocols.
    • Data Protection - with an understanding of the regulatory environment, including FCA, PRA, & GDPR.
    • Trends and changing technologies as they relate to information security threats.
    • Architectural security controls: application, infrastructure, network, database.
  • Experience working with 3rd parties and outsourced providers.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through day-to-day management.
  • Appropriate security qualification and membership (CISSP, CISM) and technical qualifications (MCSA, CCNA) are desirable although not essential, should the candidate have significant knowledge and industry experience in these areas.
  • The role holder must not shy away from challenges and should have the confidence and experience to make decisions and give approvals. They must be comfortable challenging ideas and backing this up.

Additional Information
  • Initially a temporary contract for 24 weeks, with a view to extend or make permanent, subject to business requirements.
  • Day rate of up to £700 (dependent on experience, inside of IR35 and uplifted rate of 18.55% will apply if going via an Umbrella company).
  • This role is based at the L&G office in Hove. The team work mostly from home but attend the office at least once a week. This is not a remote role.
