Denholm is delighted to be working on a great opportunity with our Utilities client based in Glasgow who are looking for Senior Android Developers to join their team. The Utilities business is part of a Global Brand who are at the fore front of producing 'Green Energy' and invest heavily in technology to put their customers are the forefront of what they do.This is a great opportunity to make a large contribution to an established business to the improvement of customer's digital journeys. You will be a part of a small product squad alongside IOS developers, Backend developers, QA testers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and UX designers. In terms of tech, the app 100% Kotlin, built using MVVM architecture. They also use Android libraries such as Room, NavGraph, LiveData and Dagger and RxJava is heavily used throughout the app as well. However, to get a better picture of how they work, see below the skills/experience that is ideal/desirable: The ideal candidate:
  • Knowledge of Android Studio
  • Kotlin or Java knowledge
  • Comfortable connecting to RESTful APIs (Retrofit)
  • Familiarity with versioning tools (E.g. Git or SVN)
  • Experience of writing unit tests
  • Have experience in building quality digital services
  • Good knowledge of Agile and Scrum delivery processes
  • Awareness and interest in CICD: e.g. Jenkins, pipeline, automated testing
  • Comfortable working on a codebase with other developer

Highly desirable:
  • Familiarity of RXJava/Reactive programming
  • Experience with debugging tools
  • Familiar with Google Play/app release process

For this position, there is a requirement to be in the office 1 day a week in Glasgow.
