A multiskilled Design Engineer to join our engineering team playing a key role within the R&D department. You will be acting as the interface between the design and fabrication of industrial photobioreactor systems.

Description
* Identify and liaise with contractors for the design of the new bioreactor system* Responsible for delivering existing and new generation photobioreactor design and development tasks in line with the agreed project plan, under the supervision of senior management* Working with the engineering team to follow and contribute to the design process and to ensure key objectives are met* Ensure that design requirements are achieved and that they perform to the required standards in line with adequate engineering due diligence as needed* Prepare technical documentation such as design specifications, design reports, mechanical drawings, bills of materials.* Conduct and participate in technical reviews in line with our internal guidelines* Provide regular updates and reports on progress to Project Management, keeping them fully informed of status, and advise on any risks, issues, and bottlenecks* Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including engineering firms, other engineering disciplines and supply chain or Manufacturing contacts* Support effort to verify and validate new product designs
Profile
* Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Meng/HND + industrial experience)* Existing Mechanical Design Engineering knowledge* Experience in CAD systems and engineering modelling software (e.g., solidworks,autocad)* Ability to comprehend and apply technical engineering drawings to real-life applications* Ability to work efficiently and autonomously* Desire to take an innovative approach to solving complex problems* Experience of working in and understanding the engineering lifecycle* Experience in bioreactor and/or fermentation systems, as well as precision components, electronics, and mechanisms will be a distinct advantage* Project management skills/experience advantageous
