Reed Accountancy are currently working in partnership with a national group business located in Knowsley who are now looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a temporary to permanent basis.
Our client is a market leading FMCG business that has seen a growth over recent years and is on a path of continued & sustained growth, that will provide the right candidate with opportunities to grow.

Reporting to the Management Accountant & Financial Controller, duties of the role include:
- Assisting with the production of management accounts
- Month end / year end tasks
- Weekly payroll processing
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Maintaining and updating payroll records
- Process invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders
- Assist head office in setting up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
- Process business expense returns
- Processing BACS payments and preparing cheques
- System price adjustments
- Debit Note investigation and management
- Various reporting including; Production reports, Purchase variance, Labour variance & Production variance
Due to the nature of the role, our client is looking for candidates with the following experience:
- Part qualified AAT accounting experience (minimum)
- An aptitude for IT - good Excel skills
- Previous experience with payroll (preferred)
- Great interpersonal and communications skills
- The ability to work to regular deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
