Client Details

A leading engineering business in W. Yorkshire who are benefiting from significant investment. This client have witnessed YOY growth and are in search of a Procurement Manager to develop systems and process within an increasingly complex purchasing department.

Description

The Procurement Manager will lead a team of 4 reporting into the Operations Director. You will be responsible for an overall spend of £14m across a breadth of material and componentry. The role will be tasked with developing the strategic direction of the purchasing function, supporting the senior management team in delivering growth opportunity cross the business.

Other responsibilities will include:
  • Leading, developing and executing global purchasing strategies
  • Manage an expanding business with an annual spend of £14M
  • Performing strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend whilst critically evaluating all areas of the supply chain
  • Reducing internal inspection costs by improving right-first-time vendor delivery performance
  • Leading and mentoring the purchasing team and providing a dedicated focus on the professional development of individual team members
  • Leading on negotiations with key suppliers, crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms

Profile

The successful Procurement Manager will possess a range of the following:
  • A strong comprehension of purchasing within a manufacturing environment
  • A proven background in supplier relationship management and developing vendor relationships
  • Leadership acumen
  • Experience of negotiating complex framework agreements and contracts
