Chartered Accountants - Uxbridge

As a medium sized accountancy firm, we provide a wide range of services including audit and accounts, tax compliance, tax planning, payroll, HR and company secretarial.

An opportunity has now arisen for a Semi Senior Accountant in our Uxbridge office.

Job Description

You will be responsible for a full range of duties, including supporting the team with client portfolio's and bookkeeping.

Duties will also include the following:
  • Support the team with a client portfolio consisting of SME and entrepreneurial businesses.
  • Bookkeeping
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
  • Corporation tax computations
  • Corresponding with clients and regulatory authorities (HMRC, Companies House etc) as required
  • Ad hoc project work

Experience required/Person specification:

To be considered for this opportunity:

Proven track record of preparing statutory accounts from bookkeeping through to completion
  • Experience in corporation tax computations
  • Experience dealing with various bookkeeping and accounts queries
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Able to work both within a team as well as with minimal supervision
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Good working knowledge of using Xero; experience of using other accountancy software and CCH would be an additional benefit but not essential
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a practice
  • Knowledge and experience of preparing personal tax returns is desirable but not essential

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will have a good working knowledge of accounting software (Xero, Quickbooks, Sage), MS Office, particularly Word and Excel. Good organisational skills, problem solving and communication skills are also important, as is a motivated approach.Further Information:
