We are pleased to assist our long standing client with their recruitment for an experienced Production Engineer. This is a pivotal role in the company as this position is the only one in the department. In this role you will be working very closely with Development and Operations teams performing essential daily/weekly tasks as well as a variety of projects. Responsibilities to include: Responsibilities include: * Liaison between Development and Operations for new products * Managing the transition of new products from R&D into manufacturing or supply (finished product) * Assembly process for new and existing products * Tooling for new products and maintenance of tooling * Liaising with contract suppliers for new products * Management and control of build data including BOMS from ECN releases * Design and layout of production build areas * First Article inspection and quality control * Supporting new supplier selection and quality * Documentation for all products - including manuals, assembly instructions and QA checks for existing and new products * Involvement in any product issues from a manufacturing point of view * Control of the in-house non-conformance procedure for delivered/built goods * Review and updating existing BOMS to reflect changes within the company product range * Establishing a process of recording software revisions in hardware builds - build configuration management * Opportunity for career development in quality and compliance Requirements * Qualification and Experience in Mechanical engineering * Appreciation for electronics manufacturing * Lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5s, 6 sigma, 8d qualifications * The ability to work in a small team or individually * A can-do attitude with appreciation of a small company environment Hours of work are 9-5pm Monday to Friday
