• Bookkeeping client records
• Preparation of periodic management accounts for clients
• Desktop review of client records, including advising clients of correction needed or updating client records as required
• Assisting clients with general accounting and cloud software queries, both remotely and at client premises
• Preparation of VAT returns as part of management accounts services
• Ability to advise clients on basic accounting queries in general
• Network and develop business contacts
• Ad hoc administration tasks as required

As a finance Assistant you will have:

• Experience using accounting software
• Experience working in an accountancy practice or maintaining accounting records and the preparation of VAT returns
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt and respond to changing deadlines and priorities
• Organisational skills
• Ability to work both alone, with clients and in a team - clear communication skills including keeping respective parties up to date with progress/ issues etc
• The role will require you to work with a number of partners and managers across the office and practice and may require some travel to other offices
• Demonstrate positive attitude, problem solving, patience and understanding of different learning styles
• AAT desirable
• Opportunity to study ACA/ACCA a possibility
• Ability to drive and own or have access to a vehicle
