Our client is looking for an experienced and driven EL/PL Fee Earner to join their growing team in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear.

Responsible for the day to day handling of EL/PL portal exited or non-portal personal injury claims.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing files and reporting regularly to clients, referrers, team leaders or others• Liaising with medical and other experts• Assessing the merits of cases in light of denials of liability and gathering evidence, both documentary and witness, to rebut denials and pursue meritorious cases to settlement by negotiation or through litigation• Liaising and negotiating with insurers, solicitors, courts, Counsel and other agencies• Valuing claims for Pain Suffering and Loss of Amenity.• Identifying, gathering evidence in support of and valuing other heads of damage, including loss of earnings, care and assistance and Smith v Manchester damages• Completing Schedules of Special Damages.• Issuing proceedings and proceeding through litigation to settlement or Trial• Preparing cases for Trial including preparing Briefs to Counsel• Reporting to team leader any difficulties or delays on files• Providing statistics in relation to files handled upon request

Requirements:

• A Personal Injury Fee Earner or Paralegal with 1+ years EL/PL experience• Will be fully confident running a caseload of EL/PL cases from inception to settlement and working to targets• Will be committed to delivering a high level of client care• Will have experience of of running own caseload of Fast Track, Pre and Post Litigation Cases.
