Are you looking for a new opportunity to support and encourage students in higher education? We are searching for experienced individuals in London who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of students through providing one-to-one academic support for students with specific learning disabilities.

You will support students through their time at University, helping them to overcome their obstacles to learning and providing them with the skills to make a fundamental contribution to their university lives and beyond.

We are looking for support workers to help students to develop their independence and autonomy in Higher Education, for example, by providing support with issues such as transition to Higher Education, time keeping; organisational skills. To assist students in accessing the teaching, learning and social environments at the University of West London.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and reassurance for students adapting to the academic demands of higher education
  • Helping a student manage their anxiety levels
  • To help the student maintain their motivation
  • To assist students with transition to university by helping them to understand the routine of university life
  • To support the student with organisation, time and diary management
  • Ensuring the student is aware of upcoming deadlines or exams
  • Support with building independence and helping encourage communication with peers and staff
  • To support with finding the correct resources for work or assignments
  • To liaise with Randstad (and the Disability support team, where appropriate) regarding student progress or on any matters regarding a student's support needs or well-being.

  • Must hold a degree, equivalent qualification or be working towards a degree (in final years)
  • Disability support training (provided by Randstad)
  • Completion of e-learning suite (provided by Randstad)
