We are recruiting a Digital Curriculum Manager in a brand new post within our product team, to manage the relationship between the product and curriculum development teams. As this is a brand new role, the Digital Curriculum Manager will be required to quickly become familiar with and fully understand:
  • The structure of our organisation and Study Centres where we deliver fully digital products
  • The setup of our product team, product lifecycle, processes and roadmap The setup of our Learning Effectiveness team, which included the curriculum leads
  • Our delivery model for fully digital products
  • The insendi learning experience platform from which all fully digital products are delivered

The product team was established in January 2022, with the remit of driving the Group's strategy of building all new products digital first and centralising our curriculum. Those who will lead on the development of curriculum for digital products sit within the Learning Effectiveness team, outside of the product team, so this role provides the crucial interface between the two teams.

We are working at pace to provide our centres with fully digital programme offerings, and the Digital Curriculum Manager will be required to ensure the curriculum development aligns to the digital product requirements.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with product managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), learning designers and quality assurance teams to oversee the digital curriculum workflow from inception to publication of each product. You will also have experience of recruiting and contracting authoring teams and SMEs who will produce the content for our products.

This is an exciting new role and we will be looking to the Digital Curriculum Manager to set up processes needed to be effective within the role, working with external and internal stakeholders, other areas of the business and a huge collection of digitally published content. You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our catalogue of digital products.

All of the courses we are publishing are for delivery via the insendi learning experience platform, so it will be expected that you quickly become an expert user to fully understand the student, faculty and administrator experience for the courses you are publishing.

Most importantly, we are looking for a team player. The product team consists of Product Managers, Learning Designers, Media Specialists, Digital Designers, Operations, Programme, Project, and Quality Managers, and our success and the quality of content we produce, is only possible thanks to the collaboration and working environment that exists within the team.

  • Oversee the curriculum development for digital products, to ensure
    • An appropriate design of module structure for disaggregation and rebundling of programmes
    • An appropriate split of synchronous and asynchronous activities that aligns to delivery resources i.e. for teaching team interactions and live sessions
    • An appropriate assessment design for modularly designed products
    • The most effective intervention points and activities for student retention
  • Establish the processes for interactions between the curriculum and product teams
  • Review of online products designed before 2022 to identify required updates to fit the new design
  • Work with colleagues at study centres to identify opportunities for how our catalogue of digital products can provide learning sessions that can be part of blended programmes.
  • Recruit and contract authoring and SME teams for product development
  • Task authors and SMEs with, and manage them producing the materials required for online development
  • Work with our learning designers who will produce the online courses alongside the SMEs
  • Work with our quality assurance team to understand the approvals and sign off processes for each product
  • Fully understand the student, faculty and administrator experience of course delivery on the insendi platform

  • Educated to at least degree level.
  • Experience in a role commissioning or developing curriculum for digital products.
  • Experience in managing a catalogue of online products.
  • Experience in sourcing, contracting and managing authors and reviewers.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and show initiative.
  • Pedagogical knowledge, including knowledge of how online and blended courses are developed.
  • Knowledge of how online programmes and courses are delivered and evaluated.
  • Able to manage workload and reach deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise work.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and presentation skills - we are looking for someone with the ability to present confidently in front of a range of audiences.
