About You:

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect who can be the lead decision maker around design of the Enterprise Data Platform, and its ongoing development to meet business needs. Someone who can raise awareness of data management with business users, and define the data needed, and the framework required for transformation purposes. Overseeing a team of 3 Data Engineers, fine tuning Azure components and liaising with business, change and data stakeholders to ensure alignments with scope and timescales. Whilst monitoring performance and cost.

Within this role you will:
  • Lead decision maker on data modelling methodology
  • Defining the data needed to meet business needs
  • Define the framework for the transformation of data from source systems to information used by the business for insight
  • Establish preliminary data integration plan
  • Capturing data journeys for the business reporting and insight needs
  • Creating physical models of the relationships between data
  • Recommend the data stages necessary for data transformation and information access
  • Ensuring progress is in line with business transformation projects and programmes
  • Manage a team of Data Engineers3Examples of Key Activities
  • Documenting frameworks, standards, and models
  • Identifying and documenting data facts and dimensions
  • Develop source-to-target data mapping for each data stage
  • Review and document data quality
  • Establish reconciliation techniques

What you will need to have:
  • Expertise in Data Architecture concepts and best practice
  • Knowledge of cloud based big data frameworks such as data lake, relational, Graph and other no-SQL databases
  • Creating and maintaining data warehousing, data lake and big data solutions
  • Solid understanding of GDPR and The Data Protection Act 2018
  • Experience of implementing data modelling methodologies
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and its reporting capabilities
  • Familiar with Cloud and Data Management trends, including open-source projects, methodologies (connect and collect, hub and spoke, data fabrics, etc.) and leading commercial vendors that relate to data acquisition, management, and the semantic web
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Server technologies (Azure, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI)
  • Understanding of Master Data Management technology landscape, processes and design principles
  • Can quickly understand business problems and requirements and derive workable actions
  • Strong communication skills
  • At least 2 years' experience working at a senior level as a Lead Data Engineer or Data Architect
  • Experienced in operating large Data Governance programs and managing enterprise data assets in a complex organisation
  • Experience using Data Governance & Data Quality systems and tools
