Financial Controller - Contract / Permanent role

Salary: £70 - 80,000 + excellent package

Based: Central London

A well-known retail and consumer goods business is recruiting a Financial Controller. This is a high-profile role based in Central London. It is an excellent opportunity to manage and develop a team of 6, reporting to the Finance Director. The role is being recruited on an interim, temp to perm, or permanent basis to start asap (but people on notice will be considered for the permanent position).

You will manage the accounting team's day to day activities and take responsibility for the month end close process. This will include stock reconciliation, reporting to group and preparation of the group management pack. You will deliver the annual Statutory Accounts preparation and the audit. You will lead Cash Flow reporting and forecasting, ensuring that cash is well managed. Naturally you will constantly strive to improve controls, processes and the financial systems. You will lead and develop a team including overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant who has previously managed an accounting team, has a good understanding of the retail or another consumer focused business and can demonstrate the ability to lead the month end and statutory accounting processes. You should possess strong skills in planning and prioritisation, decision making, commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
