Taylor Hawkes are working with a leading Top 100 Firm of Chartered Accountants who are recruiting for an Accounts Manager for their Guildford office, to manage the diverse accounts, outsourcing and management accounts department and supervise and assist the on the job training of new and junior members of staff.


  • Manage a portfolio of UK and cross border businesses, timetabling and reviewing preparation of accounts for corporate clients, partnerships and sole traders.
  • This includes: monitoring work done by members of staff, preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts, filleted Company Accounts and Full Company Accounts, including discussing the figures with clients and reporting any findings/variances. Group Accounts may be required from time to time.

  • Prepare draft tax computations (for incorporated and unincorporated entities) including general adjustments to accounting profits, capital allowances, IBA's and deferred tax. Also, prepare and check VAT returns in all HMRC calculation formats.
  • Act as a liaison point between the tax department and client, ensuring relevant information is obtained and returns are filed on time.

Training and development
  • Responsible for the training and supervision of new and junior members of staff in all aspects of accountancy and audit, and the use of MS Office, online accounting (e.g. Xero and QuickBooks) and Accounts Production accounting software. Review work prepared by junior members of staff.

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in practice.
  • Experience of managing team members and working effectively within a team
  • Strong IT skills including advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience of accounting software e.g. Xero, QuickBooks and CCH accounts production
  • Wide range of sector experience
