Teaching Assistant - Wembley, North West London

The Headteacher has a clear strategic vision, shared by all staff, that is based on ensuring that all pupils achieve their best and this is done through continuous development and support given to school staff. Due to this fact, the school would require you to take part in inset days to provide you with continual professional development throughout the school term.

Working as a Teaching Assistant in this multi-cultural school would give you the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded Teaching Assistant as you would need to embrace the school's inclusion for all ethos. Within the school you will find specialist provisions for Behaviour, Nurture & Additional Learning Needs with an extension of the inclusion for all attitudes which ensures high levels of support for pupils with Special Education Needs.

The day-to-day duties of a Teaching Assistant would include supporting several individuals through several subjects in order for them to stay on track and focussed on the work being delivered by the Teacher. Some pupils will be needing support with vocational subjects alongside the core subjects. This position would be great if you are thinking about a career in Teaching or working with vulnerable individuals. In the past we have seen a high number of candidates who work through Teaching Personnel as Teaching assistants then become s successful with their PGCE teacher training applications and are offered positions for the following year.

  • Position for 1 school year with the possibility of being offered a school contract
  • Mon - Fri School hours 8:15-3:15
  • Opportunities to support with subject specific interventions
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs/behavioural support required
  • £400 per week Pay
