Teaching Personnel is working with a school in Bury that is looking for a full-time teaching assistant for immediate start. In this role, you would be working with vulnerable children aged 5-14 with SEMH needs and helping them within the classroom to complete schoolwork based on individualised learning programmes.

The goal of the programme for each child is to enable them to move on to further education or specialist school provision within 18 months, and so you will play a key role in the positive development of the children you work with.

Desired skills and qualities:

- Experience working within children with SEMH needs, preferably within a school-based role

- Knowledge of the different needs that the children you will be working with may have

- Confident dealing with possibly challenging behaviour

- Able to provide meaningful feedback to other staff and work collaboratively with others

The role is a temporary position with the possibility of a permanent role being offered to the right candidate after the initial period of employment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
