We are helping one of our client schools in Stockport in looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant.
Start date: September 2022
End date: Christmas 2022, with a chance for extension after this.
In order to be considered for this position, the following is required:
Experience working with children in some capacity.
Willingness to work with students with SEN, SEMH and EAL requirements.
The role will involve working out of the SEN department, engaging learners forma range of backgrounds and across Years 7-11. Emphasis will be placed on working with identified students, as well as international arrivals who have limited capability within English.
As an SEN TA you will report directly to the school SENCO and will be responsible for monitoring the progress and development of students who fall under this department. Being able to build relationships with students is crucial, as well as being on hand to handle any sensitive matters/pastoral issues should they arise. There will also be the expectation to prioritise the needs of those with complex needs, including those with Autism/Dyslexia/Dyspraxia.
The role will involve providing feedback on student development, progression and attainment. Regular communication with parents and senior leaders will take place in order to set goals both in the short and long term.
