Carbon60 are recruiting a Mechanical Supervisor for a new build project in Central Glasgow.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Project Manager/Engineer
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To be responsible for the effective implementation of the project/site programme ensuring that the work force
both employed and sub-contracted, are managed to maximise productivity, through the co- ordination of labour
and project/site activities and ensure all materials and plant are managed and available at the time they are required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
DISCIPLINE
ACTIVITY
H & S
Provide the appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that "Safety comes first" is alive, visible and engaged throughout all activities.
Engineering
Develop installation drawings and implement best practice techniques to ensure effective delivery of the project.
Productivity
Working with the SPM/PM to identify labour and material requirements to ensure cost effective use of same. Regularly reviewing requirements and making the appropriate recommendations to amend the programme to maximise productivity whilst minimising costs.
Technical
Ensuring design, installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirements
Team Leadership
Provide leadership for the delivery team in line with the company procedures and values, working to maximise and develop the potential of the team and individuals within.
Compliance
Ensure that all operational activities are carried out in
compliance with the company procedures and external legislation governing the business operations.
Cost planning and delivery
Provide input in the preparation of the project cost plan, budgets and enhanced margin based on the contract parameters and objectives to enable the maximisation of profits.
Sub-contractor
Monitor and ensure that the work of the appointed sub- contractors is being carried out to proper business procedures, project specifications, legislation and programme.
Quality
Develop and adhere to the project specific quality plan that complies to project specifications and Business procedures to reduce all risks
Completion of the Project(s)
Manage the successful completion of the project in line with agreed quality and commercial plans within agreed timescales and cost constraints
Relationships with clients and their representatives
Maintaining positive relationships with the project client through relationships and effective delivery with a view to optimising future opportunities and profitability
