Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a small 11-16 secondary school on the outskirts of Stockbridge.

Voted one of the "best places to live" in The Sunday Times in 2022, the rural location adds a unique dimension to school life and links across the community. It is also an easy commute from Winchester, Salisbury, Andover, Romsey and Southampton.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, rural and high-achieving school rated as 'Good' by Ofsted.

The successful candidate will be required to support pupils with educational needs. This may be one-to-one, small group work or whole class support. This is a busy role requiring a patient but assertive manner and the ability to deal with a range of situations.

What will the role involve?

- Working alongside the class teacher to ensure all students, including those with complex conditions, are able to access lesson resources

- Supporting children during playtime to monitor behaviour and support play to enhance children's social and motor development

- Helping plan and set up classroom and outdoor activities to facilitate learning in alignment with the curriculum

- Maintaining good classroom behaviour and minimising disruptions

- Ensuring that students are engaged in the class and keep on track with work

- Providing 1:1 and group intervention support

What are we looking for?

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within the classroom, ensuring the children are looked after and learning from the content delivered

- Experience supporting children with autism and/or associated learning difficulties

- Understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of those with ASD

- Commitment to building and maintaining positive relationships

- A warm and friendly positive approach in the classroom

- Be caring, patient and understanding

The ideal candidate will have:

- A flexible approach to working

- Good organisational skills

- The ability to work independently and in a team

- GCSE English/Maths (A-C)

- NVQ 3 For Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) (Non-essential)

- Other relevant training, e.g. Phonics & Maths Interventions, Makaton, Team Teach, Additional Language fluency (Non-essential)

- First Aid Training (Non-essential)
