International charity based in Brighton are looking for experienced Financial Accountants, £28-31k doe. One full time permanent role, 100% remote working or hybrid working if preferred. Also looking for candidates who would commit to a 18-month contract and a part time 20 hours a week 6-month contract (due to funding). Must be CCAB qualified with strong knowledge of charities SORP and UK GAAP.

Joining a small friendly team, you must be happy working independently, a self-starter, with the ability to liaise and explain financial concepts with non-finance staff and experience working for an international organisation. Our client has projects in Africa, Latin America and Asia, so a second language in Spanish or French would be advantageous although not essential.

Must have advanced Excel to include macros and good knowledge of MS Dynamics/MS Business Central.

Naturally, you will have strong financial accounting and reporting expertise, with experience of donor reporting and rules and regulations, plus experience of accounting reconciliations and agreeing reports to Finance system balances.

Duties include:

Manages a portfolio of partner organisations, ensuring reported costs and balances are accounted for accurately, reviewed and reconciled in a timely manner and accurate cash disbursements processed on a timely basis.
Manages the budgets within this portfolio, ensuring these are captured accurately and supports programmes staff in the critical review of performance.
Manages the preparation of financial reports for a selection of donors, directly correlated with the portfolio of partner organisations and working collaboratively with the programme delivery function.
Completes timely and accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations connected to project accounting work.
Supports the development of new financial processes.
Contributes to the planning and preparation of the organisation's statutory accounts and supports in the year-end and annual audit process, as required.The Financial Accountant roles are fully remote or can offer a hybrid working pattern (office in Brighton) if preferred. Full time hours are 9-5pm Monday-Friday. The part time role is working 20 hours per week which can be worked across the week or condensed hours. Salary up to £33150 doe, 12% pension rising to 16% after probationary period, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holiday, laptop provided. Immediate interviews.
