Twenty 4 Seven Education are thrilled to be working alongside an expanding primary school who have an exciting role available for a specialist SEN teacher. This is a full time role for a fully qualified teacher, starting in September 2022. NQTs are encouraged to apply, providing they have relevant SEN experience.

The School

This is a small but expanding school with excellent facilities which provide highly stimulating learning environments and plenty of opportunities for outdoor teaching. They aim to provide an exceptional education for every child, tailored to their individual needs. Over half of the intake have an autism diagnosis whilst many of the other children have other additional needs.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative teacher who can provide truly engaging lessons that will help each and every child reach their full potential. The successful candidate will be delivering both core and creative subjects in a framework that can be adapted to suit the needs of individual children in the class.

Some key responsibilities of the role will be:

To plan and teach consistently high quality lessons ensuring that learning is personalised to meet individual learning needs

*

To ensure that students make progress and to monitor and assess progress in line with the school's policies

*

To liaise with parents, carers and any external agencies involved with the students

*

To coordinate Progress Files for each student in the class

*

To manage and analyse data to complete students' reports and use data to inform teaching

*

To communicate any particular concerns to Head of department and, when necessary, parents and carers

*

To highlight positive performance, recognise and reward students appropriately, and utilise appropriate behaviour management strategies in lessons

*

To promote positive attitudes to learning through curriculum delivery, display and all contacts with students' teaching and learning

*

To ensure that teaching reflects the diversity of backgrounds and needs of students and promotes mutual respect

*

To take responsibility for personal continuing professional development

*

To ensure that knowledge and skills are kept up to date, particularly within the SEN field

*

To represent the school in a manner consistent with its ethos and values

The ideal candidate:

Will have a strong background working with SEN children

Will have QTS

*

Is creative and adaptable

*

Can deliver high quality teaching

*

Has an enthusiasm for improving the lives of young people with SEN

Can understand the functions and strategies in place to support the complex needs of children with SEN

*

Has a strong command of the English language

*

Is passionate about instilling in young people a love of learning that stays with them forever
