Are you a Design Engineer with experience working in a safety critical industry, looking for a challenging but rewarding next step where you will be offered training and technical progression, within a company that specialises in manufacturing engineering products for the rail industry?

On offer is the chance to join a small team with a huge global presence, where you will be playing a key technical role in the designing of new innovative equipment, as well as developing existing products, ensuring safety within the industry. You will receive excellent training (if needed) as well as the opportunities to progress technically within the company.

The company, which is owned by a world-renowned group, specialises in the design, manufacture, service and installation of bespoke, industry-leading equipment for the rail industry. They have several sites within the UK and supply many clients abroad (Brazil, Hong Kong, Australia, Europe, America).

This role would suit someone with strong engineering credentials and experience working within the heavy engineering design space, looking for an exciting opportunity to play a key technical role within an industry-leading company.

The Role:

Designing and developing specialist equipment for the rail industry
Safety validation of products and cost considerations
Occasionally assisting with servicing and repairs of equipment at client sites
Mainly office-based, rare travel within UK or abroad
Mon-Thurs 8:30-17:00, Fri 8:30-15:45 (flexible hours and hybrid working available)
The Person:

At least two years' experience in a similar environment/industry
Experience working with CAD (AutoCAD, Siemens NX or Creo Elements desirable)
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Masters is desirable)
Comfortable with occasional travel to sites within UK and abroad
