City Recruitment Group are recruiting for an Immediately available Purchase Ledger to work for an established food manufacturing business on a temporary basis. There is a potential that this role could become permanent also. Reporting into the Finance Manager, this role is paying £11-£13 per hour, Monday to Friday on site.

Main purpose of the role :

Managing the purchase ledger function. Sage 200 is essential.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Being responsible for prompt and accurate input of invoices once authorised
  • Raising suggested payments and paying suppliers on time utilising bank software
  • 3 way matching invoices to orders and receipts
  • Reconciling suppliers statements
  • Managing and resolve supplier queries
  • Preparing commercial invoices
  • Provide support at month end with journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations and accounts review
  • Reconcile and post staff expenses and credit cards
  • Support with other finance duties as required

What you will need to succeed :
  • Solid previous experience of Purchase Ledger working in a small / medium sized finance department.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS office products.
  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Good with Excel.

  • Invoices posted daily and detailed log maintained of all incoming and outgoing invoices
  • Suppliers paid within agreed payment terms
  • All invoices posted onto Sage by month end
  • All supplier statements reconciled each month to Sage

  • At least 3 years previous experience of managing all the purchase ledger functions in a small / medium sized organisation.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS office products.
