Shift Mechanical Engineer - Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all site plant and machinery requirements and maintenance
  • Minimize potential downtime in the production process across the site
  • Ensure the equipment and environment is operated and cared for and meeting all current legislation and conforming to company standards
  • To strive to improve the efficiency and eliminate costs form the business
  • Repair and maintain all factory equipment and machinery in a timely efficient manner
  • Understand and follow departmental operating procedures
  • Ensure all reporting is well presented, comprehensive and fully completed
  • Respond to breakdowns and carry out remedial work independently
  • Competent in understanding electrical and mechanical systems and identifying whether the fault is electrical or mechanical
  • Ability to read pneumatic and hydraulic drawings
  • Maintain excellent health and safety practice and carry out lock off procedures

Shift Mechanical Engineer - Requirements
  • Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical maintenance engineering (essential)
  • Recognised qualification in mechanical engineering (essential)
  • Proficient level of PC literacy (essential)
  • Experience of working within FMCG/manufacturing maintenance environment (essential)
  • Has a positive and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Takes a proactive approach to training and development
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities and duties
  • Has an organised approach to work
  • Can work flexibly to suit the needs of the business when needed
  • Is open and supportive of change
  • Can demonstrate commercial awareness through an understanding of production priorities and needs
