General hours of work are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 8.30am to 5pm.

Why Highway Resource Solutions (HRS)

Highway Resource Solutions (HRS) was established in 2011, following the death of a Road Worker in Lincolnshire, UK. This tragic incident, caused by an errant vehicle, was the catalyst for the development of an Incursion Warning System for road workers which is now recognised as best practice by industry and Highways England. HRS specialise in the delivery of digital services and assets for sectors in temporary infrastructure, including roads, rail, utilities, and event management.

Our Mission is to provide technology-based safety solutions that will help to significantly reduce injuries and fatalities in temporary workzones, whilst providing the travelling public with accurate real-time information.

About the role of Product Manager

There has never been a better time to join HRS as Product Manager! We are a small, friendly and growing team so there is a family feel and buzz about the place. We have had our most successful year ever! We are growing significantly - which is why we need YOU!

This position is primarily located from home. However, you will be asked to commute to our Head Office in Bottesford (once per week) for meeting and workshops when recommended by the UK Government and our new Technology Centre has completed construction.

Responsibilities of the Product Manager:
  • Ensure the correct operating data is available and where required design reports for stakeholders to consume this as meaningful information
  • Maintain detailed records of products and new product requirements for ongoing continuous improvement and new development projects
  • Work with our graphics designer to manage the production of product datasheets and user guides
  • Work with the HRS trainer and Knowledge Centre to create and update training documentation
  • Become the first point of contact for all product queries and provide Tier 1 technical support
  • Maintain close working relationships with the Engineering and Production Teams to prioritise and coordinate all Tier 2 technical support issues (product bugs and new features) in a timely fashion
  • Escalate Tier 3 technical issues to senior Directors, Chief Business Analyst and Chief System Architect for risk mitigation and technical resolution
  • Participate in regular meetings with the engineering, production, operational and commercial teams

What good looks like for Product Manager:

We are looking for a people manager who is experienced in new product development, with knowledge of electronics, mechanics, software, websites and mobile apps.

You will be 'hands-on' and technically focussed, making sure our product improves from a business and technical perspective, always with the customer in mind.
  • Highly experienced working in a similar role
  • Be able to visualise a new product from a customer's point of view
  • Experience of managing product life cycles and technical documentation
  • Experience in managing multiple engineering and development teams
  • Understanding of both agile and waterfall development
  • A natural problem-solver who uses a data-driven approach
  • Someone who can identify and understand customer needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
