Infrastructure Support Engineer x 4 (SQL / Unix)

Swindon / work from home - £30,000-£42,000 + 5% bonus + 15% on-call allowance

A growing FinTech in Swindon require a number of Support Engineers, as to they look to build out a high-performing Problem Management function.

The roles will form part of a larger team who deliver a first-class, seamless IT service operation support function for a range of financial clients. The team use system monitoring and the latest tools and techniques to ensure availability of service within SLA timeframes.

The team act as the bridge between clients and development, owning problem management and technical issues in accordance with business and client needs. You will help to identify and manage problems and the root cause, and provide recommendations for improvements to the service.

Where issues do occur, restoration of service is the priority - this may involve short-term workaround solutions if it requires a more complex, longer-term solution to be designed.

Relevant skills / experience will include:

* SQL (ability to write complex queries)

* Unix

* Ability to read / understand software code, ideally Java

* Experience defining and designing complex technical solutions

* Excellent problem solving and communication skills

It would be a bonus if you also had experience with:

* AppDynamics

* Jira

* Confluence

* OpsGenie

* Citrix

Working hours are Monday-Friday 8.30-5, being on-call every 4-6 weeks.

The office is based in Swindon, an easy walk from both the train and bus stations. It will be a hybrid role, with 1 / 2 days a week work from home
