Role/ResponsibilitiesThe Banking OU central PMO team supports the overall Banking Operational Unit efficiency and transparency. It defines and implements the central governance, the consolidated monitoring, the cross-departments best practices and the knowledge sharing infrastructure.
The domains include but are not limited to:
Operational performance
Software Development planning and monitoring
Software Development Lifecycle Best Practices and Standards
Capacity planning and utilization
As head of the Central PMO team for the Banking Operational Unit, you will work closely with the General Manager and with the departments managers. Your role involves leading a small team of program managers.
Your mission spans over three major functions.
Your team's first function is ensuring OU governance. It consists in managing rules, processes, reports, and information repositories which are deemed necessary at the OU level to help you and the Leadership team to lead effectively. It includes overseeing the hiring/ budget/ product roadmap processes, urbanizing the wiki's, updating the Business Continuity plan, reporting the global expenses.
Your team's second function is the development of Best practices and standards at the central Operating Unit level. The objective is to improve our global efficiency and strengthen collaboration through a common language, in spreading successful best practices and elevating a few ones as standards. That functions requires group decisions taken by the persons who do the job. It starts with the Software Delivery Life Cycle standards. Ultimately, this has the potential to cover any area where deploying common best practices can add efficiency to the business.
Your team third function is the analysis and monitoring of Capacity Planning across the Operating Unit's product and engineering teams. The objective is to estimate the production capacity needed to meet demand for our products, while optimizing the allocation of resources where they are most needed, for more accurate budgeting and effective project management. This function involves the process of forecasting the gap between future capacity and demand to identify actions needed ahead of time for successful product development delivery and optimization of the utilization of resources across the organization.
This position requires familiarity with the type of processes and/or governance in place in an important organization. You should be comfortable and pleased to work and discuss in English with people from all around the world. Importantly, you should be disciplined, well-organized, rigorous, and detail oriented.
This position is ideally suited for a person who is looking to help an organization establish its long-term operational norms. It is also an attractive opportunity for a person who is passionate about creating a productive, efficient workplace where others can thrive and grow professionally.
Qualified applicants should have prior experience managing large projects and programs, or supporting executive managers as chief of staff particularly in the context of a software business. Applicants should be at ease leading others with no hierarchical connection. Qualified applicants should also be comfortable working in a high growth business where new opportunities tend to come both organically and inorganically (i.e., through acquisitions). Over time, this position could potentially evolve into increasing levels of responsibility within the wider Moody's organization. Qualifications
  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) required.
  • Successful experience in a transverse management role (scrum master, project/program manager, chief of staff).
  • Outstanding presentation, communication (oral & written), and relationship building skills across all levels of management. A detail-oriented disposition and clear, concise communication skills.
  • Orientation towards organization, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Interest in process analysis and optimization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile software development. Good theoretical and practical knowledge of Agile, Systems Thinking, and/or Lean practices.
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in software development is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Jira or Asana is a further plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel a few weeks per year, domestically and abroad (once travel is permissible post-covid).
  • Full professional fluency in English is essential.
